I graduated in 2001 from the University of Natal, Durban (now UKZN), with a BCom Honours degree in Accounting and completed my articles with PwC in 2004. I have been a member of SAICA since then.
I stayed with PwC for a year as Assistant Manager, venturing into the world of commerce in 2006. In 2008, I was appointed as a lecturer at UKZN and coordinated the Taxation 300 course until December 2010. From 1 January 2011, I took over the role of Academic Leader for the Taxation Department, as well as the coordination of the Postgraduate Taxation Programme.
Since 2013 I have been providing training and consulting services to the profession. I have presented on behalf of various professional bodies, such as SAICA, FASSET, CSSA as well as providing in-house training to numerous accounting firms. The topics covered include all aspects of Income Tax, VAT and Estate Duty.
I am also a member of the SAICA Eastern Region Tax Committee, the National Tax Operations Committee and have recently been appointed as an Accounting Member of the Tax Court.
